How the site is built

We used the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, as our guide. In practice:

• Every page and form can be used with a keyboard alone, and the item in focus is always outlined.
• A “Skip to content” link is the first stop on every page.
• Text and background colors were measured for contrast.
• Pages can be zoomed, and text enlarged, without content being cut off or running off the side.
• Form questions have written labels, and an error message appears beside the answer it is about.
• Photos that carry information have a text description. Decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
• Nothing on the site has a time limit. A form you have started is kept in your browser if the page reloads.
• Pages print without menus, buttons, or video.

Video and motion

The homepage has silent video behind some sections. It carries no information. On a phone, or if your device is set to reduce motion or to save data, the video never loads and a still picture shows in its place. A small round pause button in the bottom corner of the first homepage video stops all of it on any device, and the choice is remembered on that device.

What we know isn’t perfect

• The office map and the address suggestions on the quote form come from Google, and we don’t control how they behave. The address is also written out as text, and you can type an address without choosing a suggestion.
• The security check on our forms comes from Cloudflare. It usually needs no action from you. If it stops you from sending a form, call or email us.
